"Jai Santoshi Maa" is the story of conflict for power between the divine Goddesses in Heaven and the untiring devotion of people on earth.

In the annals of Hindu Mythology, 'Santoshi Maa' the goddess of satisfaction is in no way less than the other Goddesses. She is worshipped in every Hindu family and people get their cherished desires fulfilled by worshipping this pious Goddess-'Santoshi Maa' and keeping fast for continuous sixteen Fridays.

But who made her name so popular Sati Satyavati, whose tolerance, sufferings, forgiveness made her immortal in the hearts of thousands of Hindus and the sacred tale of 'Santoshi Maa' is being narrated in crores of Hindu houses on every Friday.

Satyavati was the wife of the seventh son, Birju, of an old and pious mother living in a village with her whole family. Birju's Bhabis were very Jealous of Satyavati, due to her majestic beauty and true devotion to her husband and Goddess 'Santoshi Maa'. They were in wait of the right moment to break the tie of love between the couple as was the case with the Divine Goddesses- Parvati, Lakshmi and Brahmani who were also too jealous of Satyavati as she worshipped their rival- 'Santoshi Maa'. They created the atmosphere and Birju was insulted by his Bhabis so that he consequently left the house with a row to become rich and then return to this household.

This incident caused much happiness to the Bhabis at the same time Naarad was provoking the Goddesses to bestow more evils on Birju, so that the power of tolerance and satisfaction of Satyavati be tested on the sacred name of Pati Bhakti.

The said news of BIrju's tragic death by drowning was sent to Satyavati, who could not believe it because she had her firm faith in the Goddess 'Santoshi Maa'.

The three Goddesses and the six crooked and wily Bhabis utilised all resources at their command to bow down Satyavati.
But could they do so?
